I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
